Article Darning Seaming And How To Join Your Work

This post is about joining your work using mattress stitch. I must admit most times I tend to crochet my work together but to be honest there are sometimes when you really need to join your work using this method of using Mattress Stitch also often used with hand sewing projects, mending blankets etc…

Using the mattress stitch is a great way of grafting two knitted pieces together. Using this technique, the two pieces will be joined together using an invisible seam.

You will need to use two slightly different techniques for knitted pieces in the stockinette stitch and in the garter stitch.

In this tutorial, we have included both video tutorials and infographics that explain these two different techniques.
