Caszs Country Crafts Store Announcement

Drought, Fire, Smoke, Flue Season, Winter Hours & Covid-19  ...

I have decided to do a store announcement in regard to our winter hours, in-store trading, online orders, deliveries and the current corona virus pandemic here in Australia. It is now autumn here in Wangaratta Victoria and to be honest we are still recovering from drought and the fires, now to top it in we have flu season and the corona-virus. Pandemic to consider as well. I will try and address the issues as to how they are listed in the order here.

To be honest as a small business I am still recovering the bush firers. We were surrounded north south and east from all the firers and we were inundated with smoke for nearly 3 months here the last fire here in our area was only put out on February the 28th 2020.

We had to pull the whole store apart putting everything into plastic containers. I had already started putting all my skeins away from the first lot of smoke and fire thankfully so out of all the wool I have here I only lost 15 x 100 gram, 4 ply skeins that I had had hanging up drying from dyeing. All of our accessories, notions and handmade articles where already packaged individually but with the smoke I too have had to pack them all away to protect everything from smoke damage.

So, my whole shop has had to be packed up to protect everything from being covered in smoke and soot. Health wise I also ended up sick from the smoke with fluid on the lungs and also a bacterial infection in my system. My housemate to ended up sick with a bacterial infection as well, as a lot of locals living here due to how heavy the smoke was coming in. Our gp had also told us that it whilst everyone in town didn’t get a lung infection there was a lot of us that did. Unfortunately, both of us here did up sick and it also meant I lost my summer dying time.

Our region was hit hard by all the fires throughout Christmas and summer. Our town itself ended up being a government evacuation center for those who lost their homes and stock. We still have people here in town from the fires and I have to admit the loss of life, loss of homes, loss of land and animal life was pretty horrific. As a community it will take years for everyone to recover alone from the fires here in north east Victoria. As a family we to where affected with family members losing their homes and others coming close to it, our self I'm thankful I still have a home ad where all safe.

I myself have been treated with several lots of antibiotics for the lung infection and infection which I developed from all the smoke plus I've been treated with prednisolone tablets to dry my lungs up. The antibiotics have worked I’m pleased to say and the infection has cleared up I am though still having problems with fluid on the lungs so am still on the prednisone treatment and now with the flue and covid-19 being thrown into the mix we are having to look at changing how I am operating.
My GP has given me a clearance to return to work, but I am not allowed to commence any new hand dying yet. That itself didn’t worry me to much ha, ha as I have a house full of wool here that I’ve still yet to skein up. Once he does give me a clearance I will return to all my hand dyeing!

Our town now is currently starting to go into lock-down with the corona-virus and with my health from the fires I too have decided that I will not be having walk in trade this winter. As they develop more information as to this virus and over time I’m guessing a vaccine, the world and our populations cope with the fear and effects of corona-virus.

The online store will operate as normal and as to local trade (Wangaratta/Local Orders) any orders that you’d like I am asking them to be placed by email order or online. I have decided to close for in-store walk in trade due to my own public safety concerns of our community at the moment due to the confusion as to the current pandemic of corona-virus here in Australia and till they get to understand it more as it travels throughout our society and communities here in Australia & Worldwide.I will reopen to in-store trade once the government advises us that it is safe too.

With being a small home based business, I am the only one who process orders so there is no risk as to online orders being processed and posted out. They have stated that there is no risk of catching the virus via mail deliveries. For Online Orders Visit Caszs Country Crafts Here. Just press on the picture below and a link to the store will open for you.

Caszs Country Crafts Online Store

I am lucky enough that I have quite a large amount of stock here at home itself so although I do purchase some of my stock from overseas the delays in deliveries aren’t affecting me too much. I have had a few delayed but not too many so far thankfully. I too am though affected by the current post delivery delays with stock from Europe and china at the moment. I am expecting the countries affected to grow as the outbreak spreads throughout the world.

If you do experience delays in receiving a package from us I cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by either customs or delays caused from the covid-19 pandemic. It is beyond my control at present with some and yet with others they have been delivered quite quickly with mail going out from Australia. If you do experience any problems or have any concerns please feel welcome to contact me.

Casz’s Country Craft’s Winter Business Hours & Covid-19.

1/ Online is open 24/7, for orders and deliveries.

2/ Normal Send Post (Red Satchel) & Processing times are within 2 to 3 business days as normal,

3/ Express Delivery will be sent within 24 hours. Although I often do manage to get these out on the day as I have a direct labeling & delivery service connected to the online store.

4/ Air & Sea Deliveries are being affected by the corona virus and that is a per country. I cannot be held responsible for delays caused from either customs or the corona-virus pandemic delays.

5/ There will be no walk in in-store customer service throughout this winter season from myself as we go through the flu season and the initial hit of the corona virus pandemic here in Wangaratta Victoria Australia. As to the personalize knitting classes that where due to start after Easter I am thinking of moving them to a later date due to the fact there is still so much unknown about the corona-virus pandemic affecting us all worldwide at present.

Personalized orders being made for you or specifically dyed for you.
Orders will be processed as to the time suited for construction of your products/garments or for a pacific amount of coloured hand dyed yarns. This is discussed with you during the personalised order.

I will still operate as a small business operating from here at home but yes due to the still recovering from the bush firers, smoke damage and personal health issues. I also needed to consider coming into contact with others and the covid-19 pandemic happening here in Australia.

“I do though have enough yarn here; Lol ! - I can post out to you here in Australia. Australia Post are still operating as normal within Australia!

As to you the reader I pray and hope that you yourself & family members are not affected by this horrible disease covid-19 as it affects our Communities throughout the world.”

Well that’s it for me now as to business hours, the affects of bush fires, smoke and covid-19 & deliveries for outgoing orders throughout the world.
Stay Safe, Stay Healthy & may god bless you all with his many blessings.

Please do by from us in the bush here in country Victoria, Australia. I am still operating and am trying to keep my business afloat throughout this difficult time.

Carey,
Casz’s Country Craft’s.
