Free Pattern Vintage Newborn Beanie Printable Pattern

This Pom Pom Newborn Hat is an easy baby hat knitting pattern.

Knitted in stockinette stitch, this knitted baby hat is simple enough for beginners to get the hang of quickly and easy enough for advanced knitters to finish in an evening.

Because this is such a quick knitting pattern, it’s also a perfect charity knitting project.

Originally designed to be donated to hospitals, this free knitting pattern is offered in newborn size, so it would make the perfect gift for a brand new baby. Or knit these hats for charity and feel good about your knitting project.

Beginner knit pattern

Knitting Needle Size 6 or 4 mm Single point or circular

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

The designer has based the patterns on two old original vintage beanie patterns and then adapted the fibre for modern day use and yarns and coming up with her own design for these beautiful little newborn hats. On the subject of yarns these hats will knit up with 4 ply or eight ply fibre. They are quick and easy to make, even for beginning knitters.

  Although many hats are knit in the round on circular needles, for these very tiny hats I decided to create a simple straight needle pattern with a seam, so this pattern is able to be knitted flat on single points or circular needles.

Whatever your situation, this extremely easy crochet beanie’s got you covered. If you can crochet a rectangle, you can make this simple unisex beanie pattern!

The beanie is worked flat in a rectangle and then seamed to form a hat, making it a super speedy, mindless project to whip up in less time than it takes to watch a movie.

If you know double crochet and seaming, then this 1 Hour Beanie free crochet pattern will be an easy project for you to create.

The Pattern Sizes Will Fit:

Pre-School & Small: Young teen (approx. 18” circumference, unstretched

Medium: Most women and men (approx. 20” circumference unstretched)

Large: Larger heads (approx. 22” circumference unstretched)

Notes on sizing: This pattern is quite forgiving in fit. If a slouchier fit is desired, create foundation chain for next size up, but work total number of rows for appropriate size. This will require additional yarn.
